About The Ei8ht

A studio for the in‑between.

Manuela, founder of The Ei8ht, in quiet reflection by the water.

The Ei8ht began in a transition.

I spent more than twenty years in finance, in another country, in another version of my life. Then I left Romania, crossed an ocean, and started again in Houston — new language, new work, new name for myself. There is no card for that. No ritual. No object made for the space between an ending and whatever comes next.

So I made one. In 2025.

What we make

The Ei8ht is a concept studio. We make two things, deliberately.

Journals — the Beyond Collection: Portal, Traveler, Traverse, Transcend. Hardcover, 100gsm paper, 152 pages. Each one designed for a transition — a move, a beginning, an ending that didn’t come with instructions. Heavy paper, because some thoughts deserve weight. A hardcover, because some chapters deserve to be kept.

Apparel — GOTS‑certified organic cotton, non‑toxic plant‑based inks, small‑batch production. Minimal cuts made to outlast the season. The same idea, in fabric.

And the symbol?

pronounced "the eight." — is the infinite loop — the shape of every transition. An ending that curves into a beginning. We didn’t choose it as a logo. We chose it as a description.

Fewer objects, made to be kept.

Materials that respect the people who make them and the skin that wears them.

Design for the moments without a name.

If you’re somewhere in between — between cities, between chapters, between versions of yourself — this studio was built for exactly where you’re standing.
